Inspiring Raised Beds for Spring and Fall Planting

In regards to planting, there is nothing like the joys of a vegetable garden. It’s a whole lot of work, however in the end it is the gift that keeps on giving. For months this season we had fantastic exotic lettuces for nightly salads. They do not only taste better, and not needing to go to the supermarket make a salad that far more enjoyable!

Tomatoes are only becoming ripe in our Midwestern locale, even though I’m sure many of you’ve had them. Our beans have been eaten by bunnies and our beets haven’t done well two years in a row, but it doesn’t prevent us from trying.

Our one big mistake was not doing a raised bed right out the gate. It’s been five decades, and we keep fighting back the marijuana that always threatens to take over. I’m determined someday to get those raised bed gardens completed (along with a shed). So I’m on the search for great thoughts. Here are some to think about as you consider planting seasons ahead.
