The way to Make White Sheer Curtains Without Sewing

A sheer white curtain fits to any decor style. It provides some privacy, some light filtering and a gentle softening of tough window architecture. Drapery sheer fabric is typically very broad, lending itself nicely to your no-sew curtain. Some specialty fabrics have decorative hems pre-sewn, further adding to the customized look of a white sheer. A house operator, equipped with an iron and some fusible webbing can generate a curtain to rival the look of an expensive custom-made curtains, and perform it with no sewing.

Measure the circumference of the curtain pole and then put in the pole on the window wall. Measure from the bottom of the curtain pole into the desired curtain length. Take the rod down.

Measure the amount of the curtain pole, and calculate the width of the cloth required as the curtain pole length times 3 times. For example, if the pole is 50 inches wide, the apartment fabric required is 150 inches broad.

Calculate the cut fabric length as the circumference of the curtain pole, plus 1 inch for simplicity and 1 inch to your pocket hem, plus the measured length plus 8 inches to your bottom hem. For example, insert a 3-inch pole circumference, plus 1 1/2 ins simplicity, plus 1 inch hem, plus 50 inch curtain, plus 8 inches to your bottom hem, for a whole cut length of 63 inches.

Cut a piece of cloth 150 inches wide and 63 inches long.

Turn the bottom hem up 4 inches and then press the fold. Turn the hem again 4 inches, and press the second fold. Insert 1/4-inch wide fusible webbing involving the wrong side of the cloth and the last fold, keeping the webbing near the fold, and fuse according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Turn each side hem 1 inch and then press the fold, turn again 1 inch and then press the second fold. Insert 1/4-inch fusible webbing involving the wrong side of the curtain cloth and the second fold, near the edge of the second fold. Fuse the hem in place.

Turn the top hem over 1 inch, and press. Turn the amount equal to half the circumference of the pole plus 3/4 inch, and then press. Insert fusible webbing between the first fold and the wrong side of the curtain, near the edge of their first fold, and fuse.

Let the hems cool thoroughly before moving the curtain. Thread the curtain onto the rod via the pole pocket at the peak of the curtain and then re-hang the pole on the mounts to complete the project.
