You Have Room For a Piano

A lot people live in tiny houses with trees that are minimal. However, as comfy as they are, they can start to feel cramped and stifling. A large part of furniture can overwhelm the space — occasionally it won’t even fit through the doorway.

As a concert pianist, I had no space for a piano in my first few houses. The flats were too small and did not have an entrance point to get a baby grand. I compromised and purchased a keyboard, but it still isn’t enough.

If you’re in the exact same boat, do everything I have done here: Hunt inspiration from homeowners that have managed to create space for their favorite instrument. Gain ideas from their creative positioning and color choices — maybe you’ll discover room for a gorgeous piano in your house after all.

Looking around your house with fresh eyes can often open up new opportunities — for instance, a market in your living room that is currently full of bookcases. Would you rather have shelves of novels or a tool to play?

Locating the piano in this room took a second, did not it? Rather than standing out like an eyesore, it’s tucked onto the rear wall and blends with the surroundings. Repeating the timber tone of the piano in nearby bits allows the piano to function both as a tool and a bit of furniture.

A triangular space contrary to the staircase is just the ideal height for a conventional upright piano. And if there is a tiny landing which extends into the hallway, it might be a perfect place for this particular instrument.

Here is another illustration of a piano that fits seamlessly into its surroundings. The white color plays off the sofa and painted ceiling, while the piano-size corner combines the instrument into the bookcases.

Have you considered putting a piano on your entryway? The tiny corner cutouts made by stairways can make ideal nooks for them.

Maybe you’re likely to add built-in cabinetry. Why don’t you leave just enough space to get a games console piano?

If you can not find a nook or corner for the piano, you still have lots of options. Spinet, console and vertical pianos can be pretty narrow, based on the design you chose. They can fit into a space along a wall.

Look at limiting yourself to a single sofa on your living room and using the area for a piano that is bound to boost future parties.

If you’re a piano lover, it’s time to consider bringing back the instrument into your life. Think publicly about your distances and consider where a piano could nestle. With correct color choices and positioning, you may not be aware of how well a new piano matches in.
