How to Remove Water Stains In a Satin Lamp Shade

Satin lamp colors lend not only accent color to a room but a sheen to more formal settings. When water stains the satin material, the material is dulled and appears splotchy. Satin’s special sheen could be restored by following a couple of easy cleaning steps.

Eliminate the lamp shade from the lamp. Place the shade on a solid, waterproof surface such as a kitchen countertop.

Make a cleaning mixture from cold water and a couple of drops of dish soap in a bowl. Saturate the sponge inside this mixture.

Expand the sponge to the water stains, soaking the affected regions and surrounding cloth.

Place shade in the sink and rinse using the faucet sprayer attachment, or set at a shower and permit the shower-head water to thoroughly rinse off the entire satin canopy shade.

Shake lamp shade to remove excess water. Place the lamp shade on absorbent bathroom towels and let dry completely before reattaching into the lamp.
