How to Replace the Glow Igniter

When you flip the burner knob if a gas burner on a Bosch range doesn’t ignite, it’s possible that the glow igniter to this burner has to be replaced. Glow igniters are available at most appliance outlets, and the replacement part that is right relies on this range’s version number. Typically, a homeowner with some mechanical ability can troubleshoot the igniter and put in a brand new one in a relatively brief time, using hand gear.

Allow the oven and range to cool completely. Eliminate and caps from all burners by hand, and place them apart. Lift up on the front lip of the range top and brace top at the raised position, using the rod within the burner cavity.

By turning on the individual burner determine the igniter controls one at a time. When a burner ignites shut off the controller until you identify the igniter and try the next burner controller. Turn off that controller and unplug the power cord for the range in the socket.

Detach the low-voltage cable that connects to the tab on the end of this faulty igniter by pulling the metal connector by hand. If the connector is tricky to pull off, then grip it using needle-nose pliers, and then pull the cable.

Loosen and remove the screws which fasten the igniter into the burner housing, using the appropriate screwdriver. Save the screws.

Grip the igniter and then detach it. If necessary, tap on the igniter using the handle of the screwdriver to dislodge it.

Position the igniter that is new in the bracket using the low-voltage tab facing down. Fit the igniter and align the holes for screws with the holes on the bracket. Attach it with the screwdriver along with the screws.

By shoving it onto the tab reattach the connector in the conclusion of this removed low-voltage cable to the tab on the igniter.

Hold the range top and detach the end of this pole . Return the pole to its initial place in the cavity, and lower the surface. Install the removed grates and burner caps on the range in their positions. Plug in the power cord at the socket.
