On Trend: End Tables Perch on Opposite Ends of Layout

The new end tables for fall 2012 clearly point in two different directions. On the 1 side, look for sturdy, wide tables in easy cylindrical kinds: hourglass, barbell or stocky pillar. On the flip side, watch for legs so fine, skinny and tasty that you’d swear the tabletops may float away. Finishes do the exact same opposing act, possibly leaning toward bright, golden metallics or going the opposite way in flat, monochromatic white and black. Compare and contrast these skinny and fat tables to decide which trend you will follow.
