Review of Stihl MS 210 C Chain Saws

The Stihl MS 210 C is a reasonably powered chain watched for medium-duty usage by a homeowners. Its capabilities put it at the middle of Stihl’s lineup of homeowner saws, but it boasts a few innovative features that elevate it above bare-bones, low-end saws. As of 2014, the MS 210 C model was stopped, but some retailers may have units in stock.

Engine

The MS 210 C uses a Stihl 35.2 cc single-cylinder, two-cycle engine that generates 2 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and has a maximum speed of 12,500 rpm. In terms of power in the Stihl family of its vintage, the MS 210’s engine drops in the low end of the MS 200 series line; the MS 230 has a 2.5-horsepower engine, while the MS 250 features a 3-horsepower power engine. The MS 210’s motor is equipped with electronic ignition and a 15.9-ounce fuel tank.

Guide Bar and Chain

The MS 210 C regular Rollomatic guide bar is 16 inches long, but the saw can accommodate 12- or 14-inch bars, too; the pub is outfitted with 3/8-inch-pitch Oilomatic series. In this area, the MS 210 does a much better job of keeping up with its siblings; the MS 230 also has a maximum bar length of 16 inches, even though the MS 250 can take an 18-inch pub. The MS 210 is equipped with a automatic chain lubrication program.

Characteristics

The MS 210 C benefits from Stihl’s Easy2Start system, which uses an internal mechanism to conquer engine compression and produce the recoil handle easier to pull, so instead of the rapid, hard pull most saws require, the MS 210 begins with a slow, easy pull. The Stihl MS 210 C is also outfitted with a quick-adjust series tensioning system that needs no tools. These features are reflected in the saw’s full model designation, MS 210 C-BE, where the”E” refers to the” Easy2Start system along with the”B” indicates the rapid chain adjuster. With these features, the MS 210 C weighs 10.6 pounds, which is nearly 1 pound heavier than ancient MS 210 models without the additional capabilities.

Present Models

As of 2014, Stihl is no longer manufacturing the MS 210 C, and there’s not any direct equivalent to the model in the present lineup. The MS 180 C-BE is nearest; its own 31.8 cc engine also generates 2 horsepower, and its specifications are otherwise similar to those of the MS 210 C. The MS 230 is gone out of the present line, too, however, the MS 250 is still available.
